Clinical Engineering Internship Program
About the Program
The Clinical Engineering Internship program is intended for M.S. students enrolled in the BME program. It offers an in-depth, rigorous, clinical experience that matches the engineering expertise gained in the classroom. The primary objectives of this intense internship program are to:
- Provide BME graduate students exposure to hospital organization and administrative functions.
- Permit BME graduate students an opportunity to apply engineering techniques to patient care and hospital-based research.
- Provide substantial experience working with hospital personnel, including administrators, nurses, technicians and medical staff.
The internship includes a stipend, full health care benefits and tuition waiver for each academic year. Summer support is also available. Please click here for detailed information about this program.

Internship Opportunities
The Biomedical Engineering Program is pleased to announce the availability of Clinical Engineering Internship opportunities at the University of Connecticut beginning in the fall 2008 semester. This program was first established in the greater Hartford area at the Hartford Graduate Center in 1974 and moved its academic affiliation to the University of Connecticut in 1997. Students accepted into this program earn a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, which requires a minimum of 24 credit hours of course work and a thesis.

Boston VA Hospital

Middlesex Hospital (Middletown, CT)

Activity at these major medical institutions involves an in-depth exposure to all clinical engineering activities.

For full consideration, applicants should have their graduate applications received by January 1, 2010. Interviews will be conducted during February and March of 2010. Final selections will be made in April 2010.
