Ophthalmotrope Project Details
Objective: To gather all background information and dimensions of the Opthamotrope. This will allow us to write a paper of our combined efforts and build an anatomically correct eye model according to our research.
Below is the list of responsibilities per group member. For each topic listed under your name, write a concise paragraph (100-200 words) and be sure to email Bill (pruehsnr@engr.uconn.edu) your write-ups and/or drawings so he can compile and edit the paper. Remember to put write-ups in your own words and site all research! A helpful website of Gray's Anatomy can be found at www.medi_smart.com/student_gray.htm.
Group member Responsibilities:
Alaena~ Finding a clear photograph of the opthamotrope seen in the 1951 article. Preparing to drill an axial hole into the wooden ball by drawing a layout of exact dimensions.
Becky~ Researching why the Opthamotrope was originally built and the geometric justification of locations of the muscule attachments in the eye.
Bill~ Visio drawing of the geometric justification of locations of the muscule attachments in the eye. Ordering the wooden balls and other parts listed on vision page. In charge of compiling and editing the research brought in by other group members.
Danielle~ Researching the Ligament of Locckwood mentioned in the 1951 article. Also research any other ligaments that support the eye.
Kristen~ Research and find the justification of the 25 degree angle for the muscle attachments to the eye.
Nolan~ Research the description and find a good illustration of the muscles that move the eye. Look into finding what each muscle's part in moving the eye is.
Raj~ Research the history and laws (physiological and pyschological) pertaining to the opthalmotrope device over the years.
Scott~ Draw out a plan of the opthalmotrope device by hand and in Visio.
