Biomechanics Gait Analysis Lab

The purpose of the project is to design and implement a gait analysis lab for the Biomedical Engineering program’s Biomechanics class, at the University of Connecticut. This modified lab will allow students to gain a deeper understanding of mechanical applications as they relate to the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of gait analysis used in a clinical setting. The necessary data obtained for the visualization and analyzation of a subject's gait cycle, is done with the fabrication and utilizing of a force plate and plateform, footswitches (with force sensitive resistors), 3-D video system, National Instruments devices, and LabVIEW® software program.
