UConn Engineering

BME290 Senior Design I & II

Team 1 Project Webpage

This Senior Design Project is sponsored by the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center (RERC) on Accessible Medical Instrumentation.  It is a Center of Excellence funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, U.S. Department of Education.

The Motorized Wheelchair Lift is a fully motorized transport device that helps persons with disabilities access all forms of modern healthcare.  The multi-functioning Lift is designed to be used during routine physical exams, dental assessments, and diagnostic procedures.  This device is important to persons with disabilities because it makes the patient more comfortable and helps position him/her more easily during a health care procedure.
