Accessible Medication Dispensing Device Description of Project For patients taking medication, it is very important for them to maintain an accurate and timely regiment. Due to forgetfulness, immobility, poor eyesight, confusion, or difficulties in segmentation, medication errors frequently occur. A medical device is needed that will administer medication to the patient in an accurate, dependable manner. The device will be cost-efficient, easy to use, and reliable. It must also remain accessible for individuals who lack fine motor control, are vision impaired, or are limited by unsupported vertical access and can be used in residential as well clinical settings. This device must be able to mechanically regulate medication to ½ and ¼ tablets, and manage combinations of pills, tablets or capsules. Ideally, the dispenser will also have alarms signifying the time medication needs to be taken or refilled. Information about the different medications will be internally stored and a tracking system will record a history of dosages given.
