Abstract: This seminar shares how to navigate a career in the MedTech Industry from start-ups to multinational companies as a Biomedical Engineer. Dr. Jain will share her career journey as an engineer, scientist, innovator and leader. She will discuss how to navigate different career opportunities in Industry from internships to leadership roles. We will also be discussing current trends in the MedTech industry.
Biography: Rakhi Jain, Ph.D. is a scientific advisor and independent consultant specializing in MedTech Research and Development (R&D). She most recently served as Vice President of R&D, Global Consumables and Implants at Dentsply Sirona. Prior to joining Dentsply Sirona, Rakhi spent over 18 years in Ophthalmology. She held the position of Senior Vice President of Global Research, Development, and Technology Innovation at HOYA Surgical Optics, and previously served as Senior Director of Implantable Design and Development at Alcon. Earlier in her career, she worked with PowerVision and Abbott Medical Optics (now Johnson & Johnson Vision).
Dr. Jain earned her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD), Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA), and The Ohio State University (Columbus, OH), respectively.
